The Vancouver Chapter of the Women's White Collar Defense Association, founded in 2018, began as a collective of lawyers experienced in the area of white collar defense and regulatory enforcement interested in providing a forum for discussion, mentorship and referrals among women with similar expertise. Members practice throughout Canada but primarily in British Columbia. The founding members are primarily – but not exclusively – litigators with expertise in complex criminal, licensing and regulatory matters with national and international components. All are well-versed in compliance and enforcement considerations during internal investigations and when defending individuals or entities in filed actions. Women who have or are developing practices in these areas are encouraged to join, even if white collar defense only forms a component of their practice.

CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

The Vancouver Chapter accepts Law Firm Attorney Members and Consultant Affiliate Members as defined:  

Law Firm Attorney Member: Women attorney private practitioners primarily practicing in the area of White Collar Defense and Investigations, defined as those who specialize in the representation of corporations, other organizations and individuals facing government enforcement actions (criminal, civil, regulatory, and administrative), and in internal investigations, compliance and ethics matters.   

Consultant Affiliate: Women professionals who work at consulting firms (or non-attorney professionals who work at law firms) and specialize in the White Collar Defense and Investigations field, and who otherwise qualify under the WWCDA membership criteria and offer support services and referral opportunities to attorneys in the practice.  The affiliate status will permit you to participate in certain activities of the chapter and WWCDA. 

Some WWCDA and chapter events may be limited to women attorney private practitioner (law firm attorney) members only. 

All Members and Affiliates must have their primary work address in the same location as our chapter.
