Cáitrín McKiernan focuses her practice on compliance and investigations, particularly with respect to the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She regularly conducts multijurisdictional internal investigations, crafts compliance policies, offers proactive compliance counseling, conducts compliance risk assessments, and leads interactive compliance training. Cáitrín brings significant experience in compliance matters in the US and related to Asia Pacific, and has advised clients on issues arising from business operations in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, The Philippines, and Vietnam. Her clients are comprised of leading multinationals across sectors, with a particular emphasis on the technology and retail/manufacturing sectors. From January 2019-January 2020, Cáitrín was seconded to a leading US-listed technology company, where she led the company’s internal compliance investigations in Asia Pacific.
A former Fulbright Fellow to China and Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar to Taiwan, Cáitrín is committed to fostering dialogue. She is also committed to promoting diversity in the legal profession. In this vein, she founded and hosts The Steptoe Coffee Club for Women in Law, a monthly gathering that brings together legal luminaries to engage in a fireside chat before an intentionally small audience of in-house counsel.
