Julia Breyer represents clients in civil, criminal, and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Kane + Kimball, Ms. Breyer served as a law clerk for the Honorable Jacqueline Scott Corley of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Earlier in her career, she practiced with Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, where she focused on securities litigation, internal investigations, and complex commercial litigation. She is admitted to practice in California and Washington, DC.
Ms. Breyer received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall), where she was an editor of the Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law. She directed the Board of Advocates, the school's moot court organization, and competed successfully in regional and national mock trial competitions. Ms. Breyer also worked in public defender offices and clinics throughout law school.
Before attending law school, Ms. Breyer worked as the supervising paralegal at the Federal Defenders for the Southern District of New York. Graduating with distinction in all subjects, she received her B.A. in English and concentrations in Spanish and Law and Society. She is proficient in Spanish.
