Bio

I represent people and businesses facing investigation or already charged with serious crimes. I practice in federal and state courts throughout Oregon, and appear regularly before professional licensing boards and regulatory agencies. I also speak regularly in Oregon and nationally on selecting the best jurors, challenging the introduction of problematic evidence, talking to children, taking advantage of technology in trial, and handling expert witnesses effectively. My career began as a public defender in Salt Lake City and then Portland, Oregon. Marc Blackman and John Ransom, former AUSAs, then brought me into the firm they founded, later adding me as a named partner. I have been in private practice continuously since that time.
