Bio

Jaantje Kramer has a natural drive to provide assistance to others in the most difficult situations. Jaantje is tenacious, handles each case and task with tireless effort and strives to make a difference. These qualities are especially convenient when dealing with fraud cases, which she specialises in. By always being critical and curious to find legal arguments, she will never miss the opportunity to unravel important details and to translate them into the best possible defense. Jaantje Kramer attaches great importance to human rights and the right to a fair trial in particular. For this reason, during her studies she provided legal assistance to detainees on a weekly basis, and has joined various non-governmental initiatives such as Lawyers4Lawyers.

Jaantje Kramer obtained her LL.B in Dutch law and her LL.M in international criminal law at the University of Amsterdam and Columbia Law School in New York. During her studies, she practised in criminal law as a paralegal at various smaller and larger law firms. She also clerked at the criminal law department of the district court of Amsterdam. In 2016, she started as a defense lawyer at Allen & Overy LLP where she represented clients in complex and cross-border financial economic crime cases. Prior to starting her career as a lawyer, Jaantje Kramer taught criminal law and criminal law of procedure at the University of Leiden. In 2020, Jaantje Kramer moved to Jebbink Soeteman where she handles criminal law cases and financial economic crime cases. She is a member of the Dutch Association for Young Criminal Lawyers (NVJSA) and has published various articles.
