Professional Profile

Regina’s experience includes litigation consulting and expert witness services for matters involving fraud, product liability, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract.  Regina has worked on some of the largest investigations and litigation matters in history, including Enron, BP and Madoff.  Her ability to solve complex litigation issues has resulted in billions of dollars recovered and/or saved by her clients. Regina has provided investigative accounting services in matters involving fraudulent transactions, manipulation of accounting records, theft of corporate assets, SEC whistleblower, embezzlement and executive compensation disputes.

Regina has significant experience serving clients in the bankruptcy context.  This includes preparing data for court filings (e.g., schedules, plans of reorganization, disclosure statements, etc.) and also assisting client in resolving major claims that are impacted by a bankruptcy scenario. Regina has served in court appointed trustee capacities including as a liquidating trustee and a litigation trustee and has testified at trials and arbitrations.

Representative Matters

Investigated whistleblower reports at numerous corporations, determining financial statement impact and working with external auditors to resolve the issues.

Managed 1,200 cases at post-petition Enron, including civil, criminal and bankruptcy court matters, resulting in $20 billion recovered to the estate.

On behalf of BP, investigated fraudulent claims in the civil litigation settlements relating to the $60 billion Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill.

Worked with SIPC trustee to construct claims organization for the Madoff fraud recovery.

Performed regulatory-compliance assessments for major financial institutions related to implementation of Volcker Rule.

Directed the Millennium Custodial Trust, the liquidating trust formed as part of Lyondell’s Chapter 11 plan, and resolved 7,000 claims and complex litigation matters within the 70 trust entities; the litigation claims included asbestos, environmental, toxic tort, insurance, taxes, and product liability; recoveries to allowed creditors averaged more than 300% of projected value.

Implemented a recall program for a global pharmaceutical company and designed a claim-reporting and review process to evaluate more than $200 million in expected claims.

Led forensic accounting team analyzing whistleblower allegations and resultant SEC investigation at a Fortune 50 energy company.

Successfully resolved multi-billion dollar product liability litigation brought against the subsidiary of a major chemical company by multiple state governments.

Investigated and resolved intercompany accounting disputes between a major electricity generation company and its subsidiaries.  Balances in dispute were more than $500 million.
