Bio

Amy Pope advises individual and corporate clients in their most sensitive, complex, and high-profile matters wherever across the globe they might arise.  As a seasoned courtroom lawyer and former high-ranking national security official, Amy is a skilled tactician and strategist who is able to navigate the complex interplay of the legal system, the private sector, the media, political leadership, and the court of public opinion.

As the U.S. Deputy Homeland Security Advisor to President Barack Obama, Amy led personnel from across the federal government in such high-profile challenges as managing cyber attacks, terrorist threats, natural disasters, violent extremism, border security threats, and disease outbreaks.  She worked with the President and his Advisors, Cabinet Members, national media reporters, and CEOs of Fortune 100 companies.  She held the highest-level security clearance, led meetings in the White House Situation Room, navigated the most difficult and multi-dimensional issues, and brokered public-private partnerships and agreements.

Prior to joining President Obama's While House leadership team, Amy served as a senior official within the Criminal Division and as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice.  She also served as counsel to the Senate Majority Leader and to the Senate Judiciary Committee.  She clerked for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
