As the U.S. Deputy Homeland Security Advisor to President Barack Obama, Amy led personnel from across the federal government in such high-profile challenges as managing cyber attacks, terrorist threats, natural disasters, violent extremism, border security threats, and disease outbreaks. She worked with the President and his Advisors, Cabinet Members, national media reporters, and CEOs of Fortune 100 companies. She held the highest-level security clearance, led meetings in the White House Situation Room, navigated the most difficult and multi-dimensional issues, and brokered public-private partnerships and agreements.
Prior to joining President Obama's While House leadership team, Amy served as a senior official within the Criminal Division and as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. She also served as counsel to the Senate Majority Leader and to the Senate Judiciary Committee. She clerked for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
