Melissa is a senior associate in Cooley's Washington, DC office. Her practice focuses on domestic and international dispute resolution, including complex investigative and regulatory enforcement matters.
Melissa has over eight years in experience representing multinational corporations, financial institutions, and investment firms in responding to regulatory enquiries and investigating self-identified issues related to a broad array of subject matters. She has particular experience handling matters spanning multiple jurisdictions. She has represented clients before a variety of domestic and international authorities, including the U.S. DOJ, CFTC, SEC, and FINRA, the UK Serious Fraud Office and Financial Conduct Authority, and other foreign enforcement authorities.
In the first half of 2017, Melissa was seconded to HSBC’s Global Litigation group in London, where she managed a variety of global matters for the bank, including internal investigations related to anti-money laundering, fraud, and employment discrimination, as well as complex U.S. civil litigation.
