Bio

Roya Ladan is Counsel at the law firm Cohen Williams.  Roya Ladan is an experienced complex commercial litigator and trial lawyer. She is known to efficiently and consistently deliver excellent results across a range of civil and criminal matters by bringing together her strategic thinking, breadth of legal knowledge, and high-caliber written and oral advocacy in representing businesses and individuals at all stages of litigation, including in pre-trial investigations and litigation, and also in trials, arbitrations, and appeals. Roya has particular expertise in advising, prosecuting, and defending employment actions (involving both individual plaintiffs and class and collective actions) in connection with wage and hour disputes, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the California Private Attorneys General Act, misclassification, employment discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and whistleblower actions.

Prior to joining CW, Roya worked as an Associate with the law firms of Boies Schiller Flexner, LLP and King & Spalding, LLP, where her practice focused upon business litigation, including partnership and contractual disputes, breaches of fiduciary duties, fraud, and defamation. Roya was also a valued member with the firms’ criminal practice groups, and has successfully resolved high-stakes criminal matters for both entities and individuals.

Prior to entering private practice, Roya served as a trial attorney for the State of California, Department of Fair Employment and Housing, where she investigated and prosecuted civil rights cases including employment and housing discrimination and Unruh Act cases. In that role, she first-chaired several jury trials and administrative actions across the state of California.
