Global Enforcement & Compliance Series

As part of WWCDA's educational programming and networking activities, WWCDA hosts an annual four-part Global Enforcement & Compliance Series. The series was launched in 2022. Part 1 of the series is being held in 2023 as part of the Annual Attorney Meeting Breakfast Program in Miami. The remaining 3 parts of the series in 2023 will be convened in person and virtually, and will be free and open to all WWCDA members, alumnae, clients, and friends. Guest speakers will include top-ranking officials, in-house counsel and compliance officers and practitioners in the enforcement and/or compliance space. Each session in the series focuses on a subset of current issues, trends, and relevant best practices.

2022 Series

Part 1 was hosted on April 11, 2022 in person in Washington, D.C. and was live-streamed for those attending virtually. This session, titled, Views from the Top, featured seven top officials from the U.S. capital’s largest regulatory and enforcement agencies. Views from the Top shed light on the enforcement priorities and challenges the U.S. is facing in 2022.   A roof-top lunch/reception overlooking Washington, D.C. followed the panel discussion.Part 2 was held June 22, 2022, simultaneously in two cities - London and Washington, D.C., - and live-streamed for virtual participation. This session, titled, Effective Compliance Programs and Value in Global Resolutions, will consist of a discussion amongst a panel of top government and in-house practitioners.  Receptions will follow the panel discussion in London and Washington, D.C. (with food and beverages served to those attending in person)

Part 3 was held October 11, 2022 both in person in New York and virtually. This session titled, Corporate Monitorships: Evolving Trends and Best Practices included a talented panel of women government, in-house, defense, and forensic accounting professionals with extensive monitorship experience. 

Part 4 was held December 13, 2022 both in person in Washington, D.C. and virtually. This session titled, The Penalty Phase: Developments in Sentencing, Forfeiture, and Clawbacks on the Global Stage included a panel discussion to explore penalty considerations, particularly in multi-jurisdictional matters, forfeiture and clawback perspectives.
