Renée L. Jarusinsky brings more than 25 years of experience across criminal and civil litigation, white collar defense, and internal investigations—spanning a decade-plus as a prosecutor and a distinguished career in private practice. Her work focuses on high-stakes financial matters for individuals, entities, and not-for-profit organizations, and she has handled Section 1782 proceedings on behalf of foreign clients seeking U.S. discovery.
At Ford O’Brien Landy, Renée has served as co-lead counsel in the high-profile civilm forfeiture action over the $300 million superyacht Amadea in the Southern District of New York—successfully opposing the government’s motion for interlocutory sale and co-leading representation through a multi-day evidentiary hearing. She has also represented a not-for-profit executive director who avoided indictment for alleged violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and conducted a sensitive internal investigation for a foundation board into allegations of sexual misconduct, where her skill as a trauma- informed interviewer was critical.
In the public sector, Renée was repeatedly selected for high-profile matters—including the investigations of then-Governor Paterson and then-Mayor de Blasio. At the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, she rose to become the Deputy Chief of the Public Corruption Unit after assignments to the Rackets Bureau and the Cybercrime & Identity Theft Bureau. At the New York State Attorney General’s Office, she investigated large-scale pension fraud by Long Island Railroad retirees and private attorneys statewide, earning the Louis J. Lefkowitz Memorial Award for Outstanding Service. Earlier in her career, she clerked for a federal judge in the Southern District of New York and cut her teeth at Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason & Anello, where she handled complex SEC, criminal, and civil rights matters.
LawDragon named Renée one of the “500 Leading Litigators in America,” and she has been repeatedly recognized as a Super Lawyer.
In November 2021, Renée founded The New Castelfranco Society, a virtual community of descendants from her grandmother's home town in Italy. She leads annual ancestral trips to the town for American descendants.
