Michele DeStefano is a highly innovative legal professional with a passion for creative problem-solving, collaboration, culture change, and innovation in professional services. As a professor at the University of Miami who teaches design thinking at the law and engineering schools and a Faculty Chair in Harvard Law School’s Executive Education Program, Michele is an internationally recognized thought leader who has been named a Legal Rebel by the ABA and one of the top 20 most innovative lawyers in North America by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers. Michele is the founder of LawWithoutWalls, an international community of over 3,000 lawyers, business professionals, entrepreneurs, and students who collaborate to create innovations in the business of law and develop new mindsets and skill sets. She is also the co-founder and co-editor of the Compliance Elliance Journal, an international an international e-journal of articles in compliance and ethics from around the world. Recently, Michele helped co-create and spearhead the development of the Digital Legal Exchange, a non-profit designed to inspire general counsel and their teams to become digital leaders in their businesses to drive commercial value. With her extensive research and writing on topics such as client-centricity, collaboration, and innovation in professional services, Michele has authored multiple books, including Leader Upheaval: A Guide to Client-Centricity, Culture Creation and Collaboration; an accompanying handbook: The Leader Upheaval Handbook: Lead Teams on a Innovation & Collaboration Journey with The 3-4-5 Method(™️); as well as Legal Upheaval: A Guide to Creativity, Collaboration, and Innovation in Law, New Suits: Appetite for Disruption. Michele earned a B.A. magna cum laude from Dartmouth College and a J.D. degree magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. Judge Jacqueline Becerra received her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami in 1991 and her law degree from Yale Law School in 1994. At Yale, she served as an editor of the Yale Law and Policy Journal and was the recipient of the John Fletcher Caskey Prize for her presentation in the final round of the law school’s mock trial competition. Upon graduation from law school, Judge Becerra joined the Honors Program at the United States Department of Justice, where she served as a Trial Attorney in the Civil Division. In 1997, she became an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia and later joined the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida. She also served as Counsel to the United States Attorney from 2002 to 2004. Judge Becerra received the Tim Evans Memorial Award for Outstanding Performance as an Assistant United States Attorney and the Director's Award for Superior Performance from the Executive Office for the United States Attorneys. In 2004, she joined the law firm of Greenberg Traurig LLP as a shareholder. During her career in private practice, Judge Becerra litigated cases in state and federal court and specialized in internal investigations and compliance matters relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Judge Becerra also served as the firm’s Co-Chair of the International White-Collar Practice Group. As a shareholder, Judge Becerra was also active in several pro-bono organizations and served as the Managing Director for the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association, as well as the President of the Federal Bar Association, South Florida Chapter. Judge Becerra was sworn in as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Florida in January 2019. On November 1, 2023, she was nominated by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. to serve as a United States District Court Judge. Judge Becerra was confirmed by the Senate, and sworn in as a District Judge on February 29, 2024.

Jenn (Sasso) Schubert is an accomplished trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor who represents individuals and companies in white collar criminal and regulatory matters, as well as high-stakes civil litigation. She also conducts internal investigations and counsels companies and their boards on risk mitigation and effective regulatory compliance. Ms. Schubert represents clients in complex and sensitive investigations by prosecutors and regulatory agencies, including by the U.S. Department of Justice, United States Attorneys’ Offices, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, among others Ms. Schubert spent nearly a decade at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, where she also served as Acting Chief of the Organized Crime and Gangs section. She was previously in private practice and also served as a law clerk to the Honorable José A. Cabranes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Caroline is an investigations specialist. Soumya Dayananda is a partner in Willkie’s Investigations & Enforcement Practice in Washington, DC and New York. Prior to joining Willkie in 2023, Soumya previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York (EDNY) for more than a decade, where she held leadership positions in the International Narcotics and Money Laundering Section overseeing complex international narcotics and money laundering investigations and prosecutions. During her career, she served as lead trial counsel on dozens of trials, including numerous high-profile RICO cases. She began her career as prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. She also previously served as a Senior Investigative Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee to Investigate The Attack on the United States Capitol, where she led a team of attorneys investigating the law enforcement and military response on January 6; and also served as a Senior Investigative Counsel at the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), the Senate’s top oversight Committee, for Chairman Gary Peters (MI-D), where she led high-profile bipartisan investigations. In 2015, Soumya received the U.S. Department of Justice Director’s Award for Superior Performance by a Litigation Group and the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation’s Federal Prosecutor of the Year award, and in 2018, the Society of Asian Federal Officers Prosecutor of the Year award. She is a three-time recipient of the True American Hero Award from the Federal Drug Agents’ Foundation.In 2015, Soumya received the U.S. Department of Justice Director’s Award for Superior Performance by a Litigation Group and the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation’s Federal Prosecutor of the Year award, and in 2018, the Society of Asian Federal Officers Prosecutor of the Year award. Mandy Asgeirsson works with BRG’s Health Analytics practice and provides consulting services to healthcare clients and their counsel related to damages calculations, government investigations, and internal audits and investigations. She works with publicly available Medicare data and private, internal, or electronic medical records data sets to benchmark clients against peers. Ms. Asgeirsson’s work often involves managing the analysis of large sets of data to identify trends for clients or create damages models. Much of her work has focused on short-term acute care hospitals, inpatient psychiatric facilities, and post-acute care hospital systems (including skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care, home health agencies, and hospice). She has also worked with physician groups, contract therapists, and specialty facilities. She has experience working with payers, and particularly Medicare Advantage (MA) plans, which she assists in investigations related to risk adjustment and submission of diagnosis codes to CMS. She uses complex data analyses in the investigation and litigation space, with outputs such as damages calculations and analyses for expert reports. In the advisory space, she uses these analytics to present trends and identify potential issues or red flags.

Prior to joining CRA, Michelle was a managing director at a risk advisory firm, and was responsible for managing incident response matters, custom security programs, and providing strategic advisory services to clients. From 2005 to 2019, Ms. Taylor served as a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation, working on matters ranging from public corruption to counterterrorism. She also served in detail assignments in the US Senate and the White House National Security Council during her time in the FBI.

Susan has been passionately fighting for clients facing criminal charges since 1994. She is known for her persistence and perseverance.

She started her career as an assistant public defender. In that capacity, she tried multiple jury trials as lead counsel defending individuals charged with offenses ranging from misdemeanors to first degree murder.

Almost twenty years ago, Susan joined forces with Yery Marrero to form Marrero Bozorgi PL (now Bozorgi Law PLLC), a firm dedicated to representing individuals and corporations under investigation or charged in a criminal or regulatory matters, with an emphasis on white-collar offenses. Yery has since left the firm to become a judge. Bozorgi Law is an all female boutique defense firm with two partners and one associate. 

Susan has extensive experience in federal court, where she has been lead counsel and defended clients charged by the United States Government with offenses including Medicare fraud, pharmaceutical fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, mortgage fraud, bank fraud, security fraud, money laundering, drug conspiracies, aggravated identity theft crimes, tax offenses, Hobbs act violations, and firearm offenses. She has litigated in both state and federal courts throughout the country and has tried well over 75 jury trials.

She has experience representing professionals from all business sectors, including lawyers, doctors, executives, and politicians who are facing either the possibility of a criminal charge or have been formally charged. Susan also has experience representing individuals before the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In the last decade, Susan increased her leadership role in the criminal defense field and currently serves as the Global Vice Chair on the Executive Committee for WWCDA, as a past board member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and served for many years as the co-chair of the Defense Function Committee, which serves as the voice of the defense bar for the Criminal Justice Section of the American Bar Association. She has also committed herself to supporting women in the criminal defense field as the founder of the Women Criminal Defense Attorneys blog, and in her local community as co-chair of the Florida Chapter for WWCDA.

Ruchi Kaushal has been the General Counsel of Cable & Wireless Communications, a leading telecommunications operator in the Caribbean and Latin America, since 2017. Prior to joining Cable & Wireless, Ms. Kaushal was a Vice President at Liberty Global, the largest European telecommunications company, for four years, and an Assistant General Counsel at Virgin Media, the U.K.'s largest cable operator, for six years. Ms. Kaushal trained in the U.S. capital markets group of Shearman & Sterling LLP in Toronto, Canada and London, England. She has a B.A. in Economics, a LL.B and a MBA. She is a founding director of the Cable & Wireless Charitable Foundation and also serves on the Board for Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited and the Senior Advisory Board for the Apollo Leadership Institute. Effie D. Silva is an experienced, public company leader who has a stellar track advising board of directors and senior management on a broad range of issues, including transactional, litigation, corporate governance, compliance and DEI matters. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Fresh Del Monte Produce, Inc. (NYSE: FDP), a $4.5B food company.  In this role, Effie leads the Company’s legal, risk management, corporate governance, trade compliance, food safety, government affairs and corporate reporting functions. 

 
Effie joined Fresh Del Monte Produce after a successful tenure as the Ethics and Compliance Leader for Cargill, Inc., $165B private global food and agriculture company.  As the most senior compliance officer at Cargill’s $50B Protein and Salt division, she advised the Board of Directors on major compliance matters and led a team that was responsible for identifying and mitigating risks and developing business-sensitive solutions to complex problems. Prior to joining Cargill, Ms. Silva was a Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN), a $40B public food company, Ms. Silva was responsible for all legal matters impacting Tyson’s $10B Prepared Foods’ business unit and the enterprise-wide Sustainability department.
 
In addition to her in-house experience at Fresh Del Monte Produce, Cargill and Tyson Foods, Ms. Silva brings 20 years of complex business law practice at prominent global law firms.  She served as a Partner at McDermott Will & Emery and Duane Morris, and as a Senior Attorney at Baker & McKenzie, where she regularly advised corporate leaders and Boards of Directors of multinational companies on corporate governance, regulatory compliance and investigations, M&A, complex business litigation and international arbitration matters.
 
Effie is bilingual, and has global experience across LATAM, APAC, and EMEA. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of International Arbitration (FCIArb) and a Qualified Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (AAA), Conflict Prevention Resolution (CPR), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). She is also Board Certified in International Litigation and Arbitration with the Florida Bar and has extensive cross-border experience advising and strategizing multi-jurisdictional disputes across the globe.
 
Effie is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Certified Director and a Member of the 
Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA). She earned her Juris Doctor degree in Law from University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she currently serves on the Board of Directors, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Wellesley College.

Her work centers on matters involving allegations of corruption, fraud, and money laundering and she regularly advises clients on compliance with anti-corruption laws, anti-money laundering laws, and other regulatory issues. Irina maintains an award-winning pro bono practice representing victims of domestic violence and asylum seekers, and she is a member of the Pro Bono Council for Sanctuary for Families. She has also been elected as a term member to the Council on Foreign Relations, and is an active member of WWCDA.

Alise Johnson currently works as Senior Trial Counsel in the Miami Regional office of the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission, having previously worked at two national law firms.  Alise also worked at UBS Financial Services as Associate General Counsel and as a law clerk to former Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge William Turnoff.  She received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and a JD from University of Florida.  

Alise is Chair of the Board of SWIFS, a non-profit dedicated to helping women advance professionally in the financial services industry. She also serves on the Board of the SEED Miami School, a public boarding college preparatory school that serves underserved students.  Awards include the SEC’s Chair Award for Investor Protection,  SEC’s Chair’s Award for Excellence, SEC’s Director Award, SWIFS Member of the Year, Junior League of Miami’s Leadership Award and the U.S. Presidential Points of Light Volunteer Service Award.
