Bio

Mira focuses her practice on white collar defense and investigations and complex litigation and class actions. She regularly counsels clients and corporations on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues, particularly related to intersection of civil and criminal government enforcement. She has extensive experience representing clients in matters arising from allegations involving fraud, public corruption, bribery, insider trading, Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA), customs violations, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO), and consumer protection and privacy statutes. Mira is well versed in sentencing and other collateral issues related to potential criminal convictions.

Recently named one of Pennsylvania’s Super Lawyers Rising Stars, she is a seasoned trial attorney, equally effective in state and federal court with several successful jury trials under her belt. Mira frequently handles complex litigation with a particular focus on defending putative class actions in federal and state courts across the country. Prior to joining the firm, Mira was at an international law firm. At the start of her career, Mira worked as a public defender in Philadelphia and tried more than 100 cases to verdict.

A Philadelphia native, Mira is intimately familiar with the city, its courts, and government. She is a wealth of knowledge for clients navigating that terrain and regularly assists her clients to obtain successful outcomes regarding potential civil and criminal enforcement actions.

After graduation from law school, Mira had the privilege of serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Anthony J. Scirica, Chief Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and to the Honorable Joseph E. Irenas of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Mira has an active pro bono practice in which she seeks out indigent clients in need of support and representation, such as her representation of juvenile lifer Norman Bryant, recently released after 32 years of incarceration. Most recently she won compassionate release for her client at risk of serious illness as a result of a COVID-19 outbreak at the facility he was being held. She also was part of a team in 2017 that successfully challenged the strictest visitation policy in the federal prison system.

Mira earned her bachelor's degree, with honors, from Wesleyan University. Mira earned her law degree from University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she was the first recipient of the University of Pennsylvania Law School Fellowship for Social Justice in the Delaware Valley and served as a developer and inaugural fellow for Project Dawn Court, the nation's first problem-solving court designed for women involved in prostitution.
