Bio

Eva Weiss, a Principal with StoneTurn, has more than 25 years of experience in forensic investigations and compliance controls and monitoring for both the public and private sectors.

Specifically, she focuses on fraud risk assessment processes, and designing proactive anti-fraud programs and control frameworks.  Working primarily with large financial services firms, she has led investigations and forensic audits of fraud, waste and abuse in these organizations. Eva has worked with clients across various industries, including financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, utilities, construction, transportation and education.

 

Prior to joining StoneTurn, Eva was with TIAA-CREF, where she served as Senior Director of Forensic and Special Investigations. Eva also established and served in the role of Director of Forensic Audit for Thacher Associates, a leading Integrity Monitoring firm, where she focused on fraud in the New York construction industry.

 

Prior to Thacher Associates, she was with a large public accounting firm, where she served as Advisory Director in Fraud Risk & Controls Compliance. Previously, she was the Executive Deputy Inspector General of Forensic Investigations and Risk Analysis for the State of New York.

 

She also served as Vice President of Corporate Audit for Citibank N.A. Eva began her career in the forensic and audit practices at another large public accounting firm.

 

Throughout her career, Eva has served as an Adjunct Professor for John Jay College and Baruch College, where she developed and taught forensic accounting, financial accounting and ethics courses at the undergraduate and certificate levels.

 

Eva is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in the state of New York), is Certified in Financial Forensics (“CFF”), and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (“CGMA”) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (“CAMS”).

 

Eva is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society for Certified Public Accountants (“NYSSCPA”), the Anti-Money Laundering Committee for NYSSCPA, The Institute of Internal Auditors (“IIA”), and the Compliance and Ethics Forum for Life Insurers.
