PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Caroline de Sitter (admitted to the bar in 2005) mainly handles major fraud, general and international criminal cases. In addition, she regularly assists investigation officers during investigations into officer-involved shootings and other violent incidents.
Education and career
Caroline de Sitter studied Criminal Law at Leiden University. Following her graduation in 2004, she taught Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law at this university. In September 2005, she joined Sjöcrona ∙ van Stigt. In 2012, Caroline completed the post-graduate Criminal Law specialisation at the Willem Pompe Institute of Utrecht University.
Aside from her law practice, Caroline also runs the ‘Criminal (Procedure) Law News’ course of the permanent education programme for The Hague lawyers and teaches criminal procedure at the national vocational training for lawyers. She also educates post-graduates on extradition/surrender and mutual assistance in criminal matters.
In 2007-2008, Caroline chaired the Young Bar Association at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands.
