Bio

Dr. Lilie studied law at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and spent her practical studies at the Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations in New York. Dr. Lilie received her doctoral degree from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz.

Since 2010, she has been working as a lawyer in commercial criminal law and defends and advises individual defendants as well as companies. She focuses on banking and capital market criminal law, corruption offences, tax fraud and compliance issues. She also represents witnesses and victims of criminal offences. Dr. Lilie has defended several cases, including a case against the directors of a Landesbank for falsification of balance sheets and a case against employees of a large German bank in connection with tax fraud allegations (“CO2 sales tax carousel”).

Dr. Lilie is a member and regional representative of the Young Attorneys Forum at the regional court of Mainz since 2010. In 2018, she was elected to the board of the Rheinhessische Association of Lawyers Mainz e.V. Dr. Lilie is also a member of the German Bar Association (DAV), the Criminal Law Section of the German Bar Association, and the Commercial Criminal Law Association (WisteV).

In addition, Dr. Lilie was a permanent author of the C.H. Beck Criminal Law Service from 2007 to 2020 as well as a member of the editorial board of the “Neue Zeitschrift für Wirtschaftsstrafrecht, Steuerstrafrecht und Unternehmensstrafrecht” (NZWiSt) from 2012 to 2018. Since 2019 she is a co-publisher of NZWiSt. Furthermore she is managing director of the German Centre for Economic Criminal Law (DZWiSt) since 2015.
