Joanna Perini-Abbott is an experienced advocate and advisor for companies and individuals facing criminal, civil, and regulatory issues. She has extensive experience in federal court and Oregon state courts, representing clients in complex civil and criminal cases.
Ms. Perini-Abbott began her legal practice at the Federal Defender Services of Wisconsin where she represented individuals from pre-indictment through trial and appeal on matters including computer crime, fraud, drug conspiracy, arson, and gun crime. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Ms. Perini-Abbott was an associate at Perkins Coie where she handled a variety of complex civil cases in state and federal court with a focus on employment litigation and trade secret protection.
At Angeli Law Group, Ms. Perini-Abbott combines her prior experiences and focuses her practice on white-collar criminal defense and investigations relating to bank and wire fraud, health care fraud, and environmental crimes. She also maintains an active civil litigation practice with a focus employment law and health care matters. Ms. Perini-Abbott currently also stays active in federal court taking appointed criminal cases as a member of the District of Oregon CJA panel.
Ms. Perini-Abbott graduated magna cum laude from Washington & Lee University. Following a two-year stint teaching special education in New Mexico with Teach For America, Ms. Perini-Abbott attended Northwestern University School of Law where she participated on the trial team and was an associate editor of the Northwestern Law Review. Ms. Perini-Abbott graduated from Northwestern Law magna cum laude and Order of the Coif.
