Previously, Jessica was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Middle District of Georgia. While at the U.S. Attorney's Office, she served as the General Crimes Prosecutor for the Athens Division, handling all the non-drug prosecutions for ten counties, including prosecutions for bank fraud, wire and mail fraud, money laundering, bank robbery and gun crimes.

In eight years with the U.S. Attorney's Office, Jessica tried more than 17 cases, including a number of multi-defendant conspiracy cases. Prior to working with the U.S. Attorney's office, Jessica was engaged in private practice of law in Atlanta for three years and, prior to that, for two years in Los Angeles.
