Julia Shagovac practices in the areas of white collar and government contracts law. She has hands-on experience with various stages of litigation and alternative dispute resolution matters. She has represented clients in and against civil False Claims Act investigations, criminal fraud allegations, claim entitlement and liability cases, and prime-subcontractor disputes. She is skilled in performing electronic discovery, researching and writing complex motions and briefs, making privilege determinations, and conducting client and witness interviews.
In addition to her litigation and ADR experience, Julia has counseled clients on a variety of federal procurement and general compliance practices, including FAR and DFAR regulatory schemes, human trafficking laws, utility energy service contracting issues, data rights, contract drafting, and more. Julia’s broad range of representative and counseling experiences highlights her ability to connect with people, dig into new factual issues, and effectively solve problems for her clients.
As a young lawyer with broad exposure to a range of white collar and government contracts matters, Julia is eager to deepen her knowledge and connections in the white collar defense, investigations, and compliance spaces. She has worked on a variety of litigation matters at various stages, and looks forward to developing that practice and honing her skills in the courtroom and beyond. In her free time, Julia enjoys connecting with family and friends in the DC area and in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. She also loves her rescue pit bulls and even attempts to bake every once in a while.
