Bio

Grace Rodriguez focuses on complex civil litigation, government investigations and antitrust and FCPA matters. Grace specializes in defending companies in parallel criminal and civil proceedings, often involving cross-border investigations. She also addresses compliance issues across the healthcare, pharmaceutical, automotive and chemical industries.

With over 30 years of experience, Grace defends companies in complex class and multi-district litigation involving antitrust issues, contract disputes, business torts, pharmaceutical pricing issues, environmental and safety issues, whistleblower issues and parallel government investigations. She also represents companies in bringing lawsuits to obtain damages and injunctive relief. She has litigated in state and federal courts across the country.

Grace represents companies and audit and special committees in government and internal investigations, often involving cross-border issues, and conducts internal investigations. Grace helps clients avoid or minimize the impact of government investigations and litigation. She has defended individual and corporate witnesses and targets in grand jury investigations involving antitrust, securities, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and environmental issues, and has also represented Fortune 500 companies in qui tam actions brought under the False Claims Act.

Grace has served on King & Spalding's Policy Committee and as Chair of our Associate Evaluation Committee as well as the Hiring Partner for our Washington, D.C. office.

Grace was recognized by Chambers USA for 2009 and 2011–2014, and as a 2013 Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer. She has also been listed in Chambers Global for 2015 and 2016.

Defending multinational companies in criminal investigations and civil actions alleging antitrust conspiracies in myriad industries, including automotive parts, vitamins and graphite electrodes, including proceedings before the U.S. Department of Justice and competition enforcement agencies in Brazil, Canada, Europe, Japan and Korea.

Defending multinational companies in investigations relating to anti-corruption laws in the U.S. and elsewhere.

Defending a dental management company in federal and state investigations involving quality of care issues and whistleblower litigation.

Leading the independent review for the Audit Committee of Repsol YPF, the Spanish oil and gas company, regarding the reporting of oil and gas reserves.

Successfully defending Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation ("Freddie Mac") in a variety of cases involving breach of contract and antitrust claims.

Obtaining dismissal of putative federal class actions filed against Aspen Dental.

Defending Hoffmann-LaRoche, Inc. in multi-district litigation and various state attorneys general actions regarding pharmaceutical pricing issues. Successfully obtained dismissal of Hoffmann-LaRoche in multi-district litigation.

Defending WellCare Health Plans Inc. in federal and state civil and criminal investigations and related civil litigation.

Defending a pharmaceutical company in a jury trial alleging antitrust violations arising from exclusive supply agreements.

Representing General Electric, Viacom and Emerson Electric in an antitrust litigation against Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. and others alleging manipulation of copper market.

Representing automotive manufacturers in government investigations relating to safety and environmental issues.
