Since she started practicing in 1998, Ms. Manitta has concentrated on federal criminal defense (White Collar and "street crime") in the U.S.D.C. for the E.D. Va., Alexandria Division. Such matters range from misdemeanors to capital offenses, all manner of fraud (wire, tax, securities, immigration, identification document), RICO, conspiracies, drug offenses, sex and human trafficking, and more.
Ms. Manitta takes on the occasional civil/commercial matter as well, and especially enjoys any opportunity to serve as local/co-counsel for "out-of-towners" who may be unfamiliar with the unique requirements of practice before "the rocket docket." Her experience with civil litigation includes Qui Tam, 1983 actions, violations of Title VII and the Lanham Act, both as co- and lead counsel.
Finally, despite her best efforts, Ms. Manitta continues to handle complex child custody matters by referral only.
