Bio

Kristin Zinsmaster helps companies successfully navigate complex civil and criminal litigation, enforcement actions, and investigations. She has led matters at every stage — from internal investigation to discovery to jury trial — in state and federal courts.

Kristin represents clients and individuals doing business across a variety of industries, with a particular focus on health care and health care-adjacent companies. Her recent litigation and investigative experience includes claims involving public nuisance, professional liability, business torts and contract disputes, federal securities law, anticorruption (Foreign Corrupt Practice Act [FCPA] and UK Bribery Act), and the federal Controlled Substance Act (CSA) and False Claims Act (FCA). Kristin also has significant experience working on matters for public companies involving special litigation committee (SLC) investigations.

Kristin is a court-appointed member of the Criminal Justice Act panel in the District of Minnesota and, in that capacity, devotes her pro bono practice to representing individuals who qualify for the services of the Federal Defender.

Before becoming a lawyer, Kristin was an NCAA Division II cross-country and track athlete. She currently serves on the Board of the Fund for Legal Aid in Minneapolis.
