Katherine Tarcila Alvarado Burga
Katherine Alvarado is a Peruvian attorney and the CEO & Partner of Estudio Burga & Asociados (EBA), where she leads the firm’s White Collar Crime / Corporate Criminal Defense practice. Her professional focus includes corporate integrity, corruption of public officials, fraud, asset laundering, and complex economic crime litigation. She represents corporate executives, companies, and regulated entities in high-impact investigations and strategic litigation across Peru.
She holds a Law Degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), a Master’s in Criminal Law from the University of Salamanca (Spain), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Criminal Law & Criminal Policy at the same institution, focusing her research on negotiation incompatible and contemporary challenges of public administration offenses.
In parallel to her legal practice, Katherine teaches at PUCP in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, where she lectures on criminal law, procedural strategy, and compliance culture. She frequently participates as a speaker in national academic congresses and criminal law symposia.
Within WWCDA Peru, Katherine serves as Social Media Coordinator and contributes to event organization, digital communications, and regional visibility efforts, helping strengthen the presence of women leaders in corporate criminal defense.
Beyond the courtroom, she is passionate about branding, corporate communications, and community-building for women in law. In her personal life, she enjoys traveling (especially by train through Europe), personal development practices, creative event design, and exploring the intersection between professional identity and authentic leadership.
